Bob had trouble with his camera on this excursion and most of the photos he took are washed out. However, using iPhoto tools I was able to enhance a few of the shots and they are below. The Monastery is most famous for its frescoes though they are deteriorating.
It would have been nice to see, but look at the crowds! And the steps. Maybe the crowd would have sort of lifted me up and just carried me along without effort on my part…
Looking at the steep site I wonder how the monks ever built the place to begin with. True, they wanted to be isolated, but the site looks to be am impossible building site.
