Bob and I will be off to southern Africa in July: Cape Town, South Africa; Namibia; Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe; Chobe, Botswana; and then Johannesburg, South Africa. We'll arrive right after the World Cup finishes so I hope South Africa is not too wrung out to make us welcome.
We have to take preventative medications for typhoid and malaria as the area around Victoria Falls is dangerous for both diseases. I've already consulted with the travel advisory service at Group Health and the medications are in the refrigerator, waiting to be used. Typhoid before we leave the USA and malaria before we enter Zimbabwe. In Chobe we anticipate riding elephants through a national game park - wonder what that will be like compared to lurching along on camels as we did in Morocco.
Again we are traveling with Odysseys. And we have already signed up for a trip to Israel and Jordan in November - Petra at long last. So there should be some wonderful pictures on the blog in due course.
